We are a small, award-winning company specializing in tropical plants, flowers, and art pieces.  We do projects of many sizes and types, from container plants and living walls to botanic art and moss installations.  Our work sites range throughout Chicagoland and include exterior landscaping, atriums, restaurants, hotels, and office interiors.


Open Positions:

Horticulture Interior Landscaping Technician

The work is physical. We fill and carry water buckets all day, prune and clean, and care for tropical foliage. Short ladder climbing may be involved. Work is Monday through Friday and part-time is now available. We usually start early. The majority of accounts are CTA accessible. However, a reliable insured car is helpful for routes outside the city and mileage and parking are compensated.

Training is available and experienced service technicians will be compensated at a higher pay rate. Regular seminars, outings, and meetings ensure continual education in our field. Green and non-toxic pesticide organization. Join our green team and we'll bring out the artist and the scientist in you.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Installer/Driver (Chicago)

 

This position is for Installer/Driver, and training will be provided. Your core responsibilities will include:

*Driving our 12' box truck and transit van
*Performing plant replacements & deliveries
*Routing deliveries and following paperwork
*Working on-site at accounts with the install team
*Some prep and warehouse help

This is a full-time position, though part-time positions may be considered. The hours are 7am-3pm.

A good driving record is required. Pay will start at $18 hourly with the opportunity to advance. Experience driving a larger vehicle, routing, landscaping, or any horticultural interest is a plus. This job requires communication, professionalism, reliability, and teamwork - you will be working with a partner for almost all tasks.

The work is often physical when not driving; it requires moving and being on your feet. There is lifting and bending involved. You must be able to lift 70 lbs.
Though you will have a steady schedule, this is a job where each day is different than the last; it is also a great introduction to a career in horticulture.

Sales Representative

Full-time sales/marketing assistant needed to help us Bring Life into Buildings! prospecting for new customers, following up on new contact inquiries, presenting quotes, and closing customer sales. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction with the quality of
products and services delivered.

 

Main Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Prospecting for new leads, following up on new contact inquiries,
    and scheduling appointments for potential new customer accounts
    to identify their interior/exterior plantscape and holiday décor needs.
    ● Estimates job costs and creates a professional presentation for a
    face-to-face meeting with the new customer lead.
    ● Tracks and reports sales pipeline, customer call activity, and sales
    closing success.
    ● Processes new sales through company order processing guidelines.
    ● Follows up with customer contacts to ensure client satisfaction.
    ● Recommends new sales products, new supply sources, and new
    design inspirations.
    ● Supports and builds on the company’s social media presence.
    ● Maintains professional skills and knowledge through industry
    publications, and attending workshops.
    ● Attends networking and promotional events through professional
    organizations. Promotes NPK brand awareness.
    ● Supports management with suggestions for improvement and
    implementation of changes in policies and procedures.
    ● Contributes to team effort by supporting all departments as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Horticultural education or professional experience preferred.
